Vermont Beers for You – Now with 100% More for You-ness!

Vermont Triple PlayThe smoke has cleared, existing deals have been figured out and I now have a final count. It’s time to set my stockpile of yellow, silver and green cans to work as a commodity and trade them wantonly.

3 bundles are available consisting of 1 Heady Topper, 1 Sip of Sunshine, and 1 Second Fiddle with a potential for a 4th bundle from my personal supply should this prove popular and I get the right offer. If you are interested in a single can trade, I might be able to do that as well, so feel free to inquire.

So what do you need to do? Essentially, I’m interested in four things:

  1. 1:1 trade ratio (I give you 3 different beers, you give me 3 different beers)
  2. I’ve never had any of the three beers before (check my Untapp’d – drewsbrewsreviews)
  3. You think the beers you’re trading are good.
  4. If it’s an IPA, it’s fresh (the Vermont beers are a week old)

That’s pretty much it. You can either get in contact with me via Facebook or contact me directly via email: drewsbrewsreviews@gmail.com. Include the 3 beers you are offering and a picture of a puppy (just for heart warms). If I get more than a couple offers, I’ll choose randomly to make it as fair as possible. I’ll probably cut this off around June 23rd and get in contact with the traders to set up the details. Yeah, beer!

Vermont Beer for You!

usa-welcome-signs-vermontIn a week’s time, I’ll be leaving my loving and understanding wife and child at home for the mountains of Vermont with my partners in beer for a Viking-level beer pillaging (I promise the villages and woman will remain pillage free, probably). Over the course of 4 days and 16 hours of driving, we’ll be hitting many of the 40+ breweries that make it the great state of IPAs. The residents of Burlington, Waterbury, Montpelier and many locations in between (looking at you Hill Farmstead) may notice a significant dip in their beer reserves. I plan on documenting the beer, locations, and people we meet on the way, but how does this benefit you?

Well, in an effort to pay it all forward to readers of my blog, I’ll be sharing the wealth of my travels. As I don’t know what and how much I’ll actually be able to acquire, that will remain as a TBA. But, the idea is to bundle one each of several different beers (say, Heady Topper, Second Fiddle, and Sip o’ Sunshine) and trade them to beer enthusiasts in a 1:1 ratio. I’m not being precious here, so I’m willing to trade for just about anything as long as I haven’t had it and you think it’s good (for the full list, check my Untappd – DrewsBrewsReviews). The goal is to try some new beers and to help out fellow beer lovers with a couple high profile brews fresh from the source.

Woodstock-VermontThis is open to anyone that follows my blog (twitter, facebook, whatever). I’ll provide further details once I’m back with my full haul. If this appeals to you, get in touch so I can gauge the level of interest and figure out where to spend my money. Prost!

Imminent Liquidation V – Epic Bottle Share

16505_627876537339787_6178989252093449616_nHaving just experienced one of the biggest and best beer events in Imminent Liquidation V (my first time attending), I felt the need to give a shout-out to Grain + Verse for providing the location and Ffej Herb for putting the whole thing together. Had some phenomenal beers, met even better people, and ate one of the best Cubano’s I’ve ever tasted. A fantastic event that I will make an annual one and highly recommend anyone in the Central PA area attend (it’s free!). I’ll make sure to stock up on even better beers for next year (I brought Parabola 2015, Sammiclaus Barrique 2013, and Stone’s Fyodor’s Classic 2014), but really you can bring any of your favs to share. Full list of beer I imbibed is below.

Miscreation Brewing Brew Pub Visit

MiscreationBrewingBack in March, I was asked to visit a local brewery on the cusp of opening its doors and write an article for The Fly, a local night life magazine. I met with the three homebrewing friends, now owner’s of Miscreation Brewing Co. on the square of Hanover, PA, to see the culmination of their efforts and sample their beers. It was published and I held onto it for the content equivalent of a rainy day.

Well, after several weeks of more work than beer, today is that day. If you have some time, give it a read, maybe leave a comment, and stop by Miscreation for their signature beer, Frank-n-Stout, a roasty stout brewed with jalapeños.

DBR Beer Year in Review (Part 2 – The Local BBBs)

dbr 3Part 2 of my retrospective finds me mentally tumbling through the local bars, breweries and bottle shops that made 2014 the year of beer. With this, I can finally put 2014 to bed and wake up to the beer-filled dawn of 2015.  There’s plenty to get to with the release of Hopslam, Founder’s RIS, Nugget Nectar cans and everything else that makes winter drinking great. I also preview some of my plans for the Web site this year, so let’s get to it…
