Episode 15 – Westbrook Brewing – Gose

Episode 15 of Drew’s Brews Reviews is here! The beer review show you never knew you wanted and no one needs. I take it easy with Westbrook’s drinkable Gose after a long break from the world of video beer reviewing. I took some time off to develop written content on my Web site, so I was gone a bit longer than I wanted. But I’m back and ready to man up with a sour beer from those mavericks of South Carolina. My face didn’t quite implode in on itself to create a black hole singularity, but the salt and sour makes for one hell of a puckering beer.

Episode 14 – The Lost Abbey – Agave Maria

Episode 14 of Drew’s Brews Reviews is here! The beer review show you never knew you wanted and no one needs. Tequila…my boozy nemesis. Oh how I thought we’d never meet again after that time at the beach post high school. Maybe it was you, maybe it was the liquid lemon concentrate we used for tequila shots when we couldn’t find a lemon that lead to painting a campground bathroom with a day’s food bounty… Regardless, I’m drinking Lost Abbey’s Agave Maria, a tequila barrel-aged American Strong Ale that is becoming an annual release for the brewer. This beer isn’t for the lite beer crowd, weighing in at hefty 13.5% with the price tag to go along with it.

Episode 13 – Southern Tier – Fuse Box

Episode 13 of Drew’s Brews Reviews is here! The beer review show you never knew you wanted and no one needs. I mix it up this episode by trying the “concept case” from Southern Tier called the Fuse Box. Southern Tier is essentially repackaging three of their standard beers and asking its customers to blend them together to create various concoctions. The cynical among us might see this a marketing gimmick, but I toss that aside and put my taste buds on the line by mixing an IPA, Ale, and roasty Porter with tasty results. And yes, I freakin’ nailed that pun about “mixing it up” before you even knew it was a pun. BOOM!

Episode 12 – Spencer Brewery – Spencer Trappist Ale

Episode 12 of Drew’s Brews Reviews is here! The beer review show you never knew you wanted and no one needs. The IPA train derails and I mix it up with an ale from Spencer brewery, the only official Trappist beer brewed in the US. Special thanks to a friend of a friend who picked this up for me on her travels through New England. This review is fact-tastic, so be prepared to learn “a little bit” about Trapp-ism and these new to brew monks.

Episode 11 – Great Lakes – Chillwave

Episode 11 of Drew’s Brews Reviews is here! The beer review show you never knew you wanted and no one needs. The IPA train keeps on rolling and here comes Chillwave, a beer released in February, that I drank in April, and I’m finally finishing the review in practically June. Sigh… Anyway, even though this is not a beer readily available at this time, I thought it is one worth talking about. People are probably a little sick of the West Coast IPAs at this point, but there is room to discuss at least one more before we slip into the summer months, which is of course Coors country. Thank you for existing Coors Light Summer Brew…thank you.
