Brewery: Kiuchi Brewery
Style: Belgian Strong Dark/Brown
Cost: $6.50 (12oz)
Glassware: Snifter, Tulip
Purchased@: State Line Liquors
Quick Take: An inoffensive, but merely ok beer that doesn’t wow. For me, it’s a pretty simple, slightly bland beer that isn’t worth the money. The sake aging doesn’t add enough to justify the expense, even for craft heads.
Episode 6 of Drew’s Brews Reviews is here! The beer review show you never knew you wanted and no one needs. This is a beer from Van Steenberge that breaks from tradition by whiskey barrel-aging Gulden Draak for your tummy-warming pleasure. Just what whiskey barrels were used? I have no idea! Check out my leg-slappingly good review (seriously, I had no idea I was constantly thunderclapping throughout the review and apologize for the auditory assault) of this boozy BSDA (or is it?) from Ghent.
